Show Me Yours

Been kind of obsessed lately with seeing the creative spaces / workspaces of people in different fields like at this site:

So show me what your workspace looks like. Take a photo now. Don’t clean up to make it look cool. Let us see how it is when you’re in the thick of things. And it doesn’t have to be a home studio. Kiko, it’d be great to see your space at PA. Anyway, here’s where I color, translate, and design.

Fun exercise. I am interested to see how desks are situated within rooms as well. What size tablet or Cintiq do you all use? Any stylus work I need to do now is done entirely on a Surface Pro 3.

Nice Kiko! That whole office is yours?! When I have to use a tablet I still use a medium sized Intuos 4. I see you have a multiple monitors including your laptop. Are all of them used for the task you’re doing or is one for communications? That’s what my iPad next to my computer is for when I’m using memory hungry applications like Photoshop, but intrigued by Astropad for future coloring purposes.

Hrmm.. I uploaded my workspace photo to the media section of the site.. I just don’t see how to connect it to this comment.

    Perhaps this…

Fixed it for ya Jeromy. Is this still upstairs? And are you standing or sitting? It’s kind of hard to see, but by the way your keyboard and Cintiq appear to be on the edge of your workspace, you’re most likely standing???

Awesome Ben… I moved downstairs and my whole attitude improved. Happier. Unbeknownst to me, the short distance of upstairs isolated me and put me in a somewhat foul mood.
The trick is my standing desk is still upstairs (need to figure out how to dismantle it… not easy) because I was really enjoying standing. So.. sitting in the front room, Cintiq is so close because of my slouch. Man that keyboard is filthy.

I totally understand about that feeling of isolation. Been really interested in shared workspaces, but that doesn’t really work for us colorists does it? Right now I’m in a room adjacent to the living room and though I still spend most of my time alone, I can hear what’s going on outside our apartment or when Rumiko’s home, her activities in the next room. It really helps.

E – just drop it an email to me or Ben and we’ll post it. thekiko@gmail.com

Ben – Yeah, that’s all my office. Our new building is pretty spacious. The large monitor is for tasks, the side monitor is for Evernote (my digital brain bank) and communication. My laptop screen is for iTunes/Pandora and social media. I use Moom to keep my window layout tidy.

Thanks for putting that up guys :)
It is very chill in here, with up to four critters at a time passing through or napping nearby.
